computer aided jewelry design:
- 5-Day Workshop; $995.00, Lab fee $45.00
- Class Dates: See Course Calendar
Set your wax tools down, pick up a mouse and learn to design and manufacture jewelry using 3D computer modeling software. The focus of the 3D modeling section is to create 3D jewelry models using Rhinoceros software. The computer models are then used to create photorealistic renderings for design communication. The rapid prototyping section looks at computer aided manufacturing equipment used for creating castable and moldable jewelry models from the 3D computer model. Basic computer skills and basic knowledge of the jewelry industry are needed for this course.
This course covers:
- 3D Computer Modeling
- Photorealistic Rendering
- Layout
- Jewelry Design
- Rapid Prototyping
In the jewelry design segment of the course, students learn to design jewelry with post processing procedures, such as:
- Casting
- Assembly
- Finishing
- Molding
- Stone Setting
